Which trip?
Fill in the blank: "I enjoy being out front on Class __ rivers that I've run before." You have just chosen which river level to join.
Our goal is to provide you with the best paddling vacation you've ever had! That means helping you paddle your best with a smile on your face. These trips are designed for kayakers currently paddling at these skill levels. All trips include continuous rivers. All trips include creeks. Most of the runs we do are remote without road access. This is not the time to push your level. Being the teachers that we are, we offer tips to refine river strategies, technique and play skills. However, these are not classes to prepare folks for the skill level indicated.
Each group is only as strong as its weakest member. In deciding which trip to join, we ask you to assess your skills carefully. You want to choose a trip where your skills will be consistent with the rest of the group so that everyone has fun and gets to boat to their potential. If you are unsure, we can arrange to paddle together then let you know which trip is right for you. Learn more about our instructional programs.
"Thanks you very much! That trip was by far the best commercial trip I've
been on. It was a lot more like boating with a group of my best paddling
friends. I recognize that a lot of thought and effort went into preparation
for the trip, and that leadership on the rivers showed not only extremely
high paddling and river-running skills but also excellent assessment and
judgment of people's interests, needs and capabilities."

Tell me about travel and airfares. – You must have a passport that is valid for 6 months from date of travel. Call Americas Travel and ask for Marcelo: (888) 703-9955. Tell him you are on a DeRiemer trip for the best airfare (ask for Cesar if Marcelo isn’t there). You should arrive by the first night (Saturday) of the schedule or before. Make your departure for the following Sunday unless you decide to stay longer. Folks who arrive a day early report that they enjoyed the extra time getting settled and exploring the country before jumping onto the rivers. If you arrive before the scheduled trip date, airport taxis are easy to use and cost $5-6 to get to the hotel. If you prefer, we can arrange an airport pick-up service for you. The cost of this transfer is around $15.
Do you recommend travel insurance? – We sure do! These have been recommended: Dan Divers, Travel Guard, U Travel Pro, Travel Insured International, and CSAtravelprotection.com.
